RRRRRRRRULES!
• When it comes to cursing, don't take it too far, occasionally, fine. But don't get stupid with it. It just makes you look like a fool when you go too far.
• No spamming. We will kill you if you make just one word OOC posts, at least try to put in a few words, five or so wouldn't kill you.
• Double-posting is a no. We have an edit button for a reason. We went through the trouble of finding a code that axes that jarring "Last edit by..." message when you do so.
• Flaming, trolling, baiting, anything of the sort is not allowed, looked down upon, and we will kill you for doing so. We mean business on this one, yes, SRS BSNS. So, keep it friendly. And be respectful to the members
• Don't post your advertisements or affiliations anywhere but the correct forum for it.
• This is an english site, so speak english. No tween talk ("c u l8er" for example), use proper grammar and spelling. Spell Check is a lovely tool, no?
In Character Rules
• Do not make yourself out to be a God. Even if your character is someone who achieved Godhood (read: Kefka), they are not supremely powerful, they are killable.
• No Godmodding. Godmodding is when you control someone else's character, their reactions to what happens, or deciding if they get hit or not. This rule however, is void if you manage to get the permission of the person on the receiving end to do such a thing.
• No powerplaying. Powerplaying is similar to Godmodding, and even shares some of its qualities, but in a way, affects your character more than the other person's. An example would be effortlessly dodging every hit, even when it makes no sense. Once again, your character is not a God, they are mortal (even those who became a God, like Kefka). Be realistic, people.
• We all have muse deflation, sometimes our brain just refuses to work with us. But for the love of all that is holy, please try not to do any one liners. If your muse is hurting and you just can't think, we'll excuse the occasional one-liner. But at least try to get a full paragraph in, it's not that difficult.
• Due to it being explicitly stated in canon that any fallen warriors are revived by the deity who summoned them, this site has death without consent. If you are killed, you've automatically exited the thread, you'll be fine next thread.
• Proper English does so much in the long run.
• There are inevitably going to be a few turncoats on a Dissidia site, so switching sides during the Cycle will be allowed. HOWEVER, this is not an official switching until the new Cycle begins. A thread with Cosmos or Chaos must be asked for, and the deity will imbue the character with a dormant sliver of harmony/discord. The character will still technically be aligned with whichever deity summoned them that Cycle, but they will be summoned for the other deity during the next Cycle.
OOC Character Restrictions
• You can have as many characters as you desire, but you have to be active with them. Seriously, be active, with every last one of them. But this is up to you. I've seen people stick with only one character, I've seen some go for 10+ characters and actually keep them all active.
• One account per member. Honestly, it's just neater this way.
• Four canons per person.
• For the face claim. You cannot use real life people... sorta. Most of the time, it's just easier to use anime/manga/video games. But, actual celebrities aren't allowed. But you can use characters they've played as a face claim. For example, you wouldn't be allowed to use Christopher Lee himself as a face claim. However, you would be allowed to use Christopher Lee's portrayal of Saruman as a face claim.
• If you're going to play a canon character, play them right.
• Your character cannot be related to a canon. No Cloud's long lost twin brother. Rain Strife cannot exist. End of story.
• You cannot deus ex machina either. If your character suddenly gets a power at a crucial moment, it better be on their moveset.
• When it comes to EX Bursts, only special attacks that do damage can initiate an EX Burst. This means you can't go EX Mode, heal yourself, and then use that to start the burst.
• Post with the character at least once every two weeks. Otherwise they'll be moved to the Dead/Inactive board. Canons will be freed up.
• In addition to the above rule, if you lose a canon due to not posting once every two weeks, and you want that canon back, then you have to redo the entire application once again. No copy and pastes of the previously used application will be accepted.
• When it comes to ripping, at least change the name.
• When creating a canon, try not to copy-paste from the FF or drrr!! wiki. Using it as a reference is fine.
